From Timothy: In October of 1990, David Tresemer invited me to lead a group of family and friends in the Dances of Universal Peace at the Starhouse. Ty Burhoe and Harold Moses joined me to accompany about 30 people at that first dance. Following the dance, I was invited to lead a dance on a monthly basis, and barring an interruption during David's divorce, and the saga of Covid restrictions, we have continued meeting in that monthly rhythm for 35 years.
On Saturday, October 11th, we will celebrate what became known as the "Deeper Dance" at the Starhouse. I am planning a special program for that evening starting early at 6:00 p.m. on the dance grounds, south of the Starhouse. There will be aerial video made of that part of the evening, so please arrive a little earlier, so you won't look like a straggler on the outside of a beautiful dancing mandala! Due to waning daylight it is important to start at 6:00. The dances will move inside where we will dance some of the classics as well as some newer offerings.
If you are not new to Boulder, you know that it is a town that chases trends. To have a spiritual, community building practice offered in such a stunning location for this duration is rare indeed. My sincere thanks go to David and Lila, along with the entire Starhouse team at All Seasons Chalice for providing a sustainable home for the dances (and the dance leader) for all of these years.
I hope you will plan to join us. We will also invoke the spirit of our ancestors (Samhain) and those dancers who have transitioned to the spirit world during the last three and a half decades.
