Oct 2025 - Paddle Marble Canyon / Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River

Details
UPDATE: MAKE YOUR BOAT BACKHAUL RESERVATION FOR 8am ASAP. (6am isn’t offered in Oct and 7am is sold out)
I was scheduled to paddle this section with my son for my bday but the NFS closed Hwy 89a due to the fires near by. Since my son will be in Europe in October, thought I’d put this out to the group!
October is the prime month to paddle since the air temps are more mild. Air Temps will range from 45 in the evening to 75 during the day.
This is a beginner / intermediate paddle trip… no white water, however the current can range from 1-3 mph.
Water temp will be around 54 degrees since this is below Glen Canyon Dam.
We will be using a backhaul service that will take us and our gear/crafts up river to the Glen Canyon Dam. Dropping us off on a sandy beach to set up our gear for the paddle.
There are designated camp sights along the river with compostable toilets.
Depending on what equipment you have, the cost may vary.
This outfitter has water craft, paddle, pfd, sleep pads, and dry bags for rent if needed.
Backhaul service is $85+tax.
