Figuring out Sponsored Contributors for Open Source Software

Details
This month we are digging into Open Source Software and how companies and organizations can help by sponsoring contributors.
There will be a short presentation (15min) by Roger, previewing a presentation he is giving later this month at WordCamp US.
It is conservatively estimated that Open Source Software(OSS) is valued at $9 Trillion (with a T) and that over 90% of companies use some form of these tools in their software. Studies have also found that companies that contribute to OSS see a 2X increase in value over free-riders.
Yet many companies do not contribute either in time or money to the very thing that allows them to do business. In this talk Roger will talk about his experience running a Sponsored Contributor project at his company and hopes to inspire others to do the same.
There will be plenty of time to discuss this topic and anything else the group wants to talk about.
As always lunch is paid for by Kinsta. See you soon!
