Film Adaptation: Perfume
Details
Due to popular demand (see also: to head off a full-on revolt), I’m posting the film event for May early so that would-be readers have enough time to actually read the book in advance. Although — as ever — this part is entirely optional and all you will earn for your trouble is an enhanced movie-viewing experience and my undying adoration. (Almost certainly not worth it!)
In a bid to keep some variety in our picks and as a shameless return to a personal favorite, May’s film adaptation will be Perfume, based on Patrick Süskind’s novel, Perfume: Story of a Murderer. (Ugh, spoiler much?!) As the astute reader will have already surmised, both book and film include murderous violence. Nudity and sex, as well. But I promise, ladies and gentlemen: of drugs and rock and roll, there are none.
I will host the event in my home, so space is limited. Please treat your RSVP as a commitment and if you cannot come, update accordingly. As always, I will plan to feed my guests and have a few drinks on hand, but please feel free to bring a favorite beverage or anything else you feel is essential. (And, as always, please let me know ASAP if you have allergies or dietery restrictions.)
Note that the address listed is a nearby placeholder, NOT MY ACTUAL ADDRESS. Exact location will be sent to those who will attend a few days before the event.
