More info:
Last year, a medieval sculpture in the Nasher’s collection was traced back to the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, making it one of only a handful of sculptures from the great cathedral in the United States. Join us for a screening of the Lost Tombs of Notre Dame, a documentary that follows research efforts in the wake of the devastating fire at the cathedral in 2019. The film explores the excavation of tombs beneath the cathedral’s floor as well as the scientific study that connected the Nasher’s head with the cathedral’s choir screen that was uncovered during excavations.
This program is in conjunction with On the Same Wavelength, an exhibition in the incubator gallery exploring the possibilities of scientific analysis for the study of artworks in the Nasher’s collection.
Admission to the museum and film screening are free!
