What we’re about
Come join the Durham Exceptional Parents Social Club! This traveling social club has a fancy sounding name, but isn't as exclusive as you think! This group is for parents of toddler to school-aged exceptional children, who would like to hang out and socialize with other parents that "get it". Sometimes it's nice to get a beer with someone who understands that answering the question, "how was _______'s day at Pre-K?" may require a second beer. 😀
FYI: "Exceptional children" is one way to refer to children with different educational needs from average/typically developing children - usually referring to kids with learning differences, disabilities, special needs, etc. Different families may have different preferences regarding terminology, so if you aren't sure how someone feels about it, ask!
