PLEASE POST YOUR BOOK SUGGESTIONS BY THURSDAY, JANUARY 1
This is not an actual Meetup, just a placeholder to post book suggestions. No need to RSVP

We will vote on our 2025 book choices at an online meetup on Sunday, January 4, 4:00 PM.

You can see a list of books the group has read over the years at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ICC94FNy8vx-Zkxdb_lsAefBQ26PerTplcr4mR05dwY/edit?usp=sharing

Guidelines:

• Post ONE suggestion per comment.

• Please tell us AUTHOR, TITLE and GENRE of the book and why you are interested in it or why it would be a good book club read. It's also helpful to post the length of the book.

• You can suggest more than one book, but please post each book as a separate comment.

• It does not have to be a book that you have already read, just one that piques your interest.

• As a group, we read both fiction and nonfiction and are open to all
genres. Classics are welcome too.

• It can also be fun to read at least one book that was made into a movie or TV series each year and have Meetups to discuss both. For now, those can be any movie/series available on any common streaming platform or in the theaters.

• In general, the person who suggests the book will be the host for that book's Meetup. That means they usually stake out space for the group at whatever venue we're at and often bring some book discussion questions to get the conversation going. In the past year, we have expanded to holding a second Meetup for each book, usually on the Thursday evening following the Sunday Meetup. As host, you are not responsible for being at both discussions. Another member can take over hosting duties for the other Meetup.

• There is a fair amount of turnover in the group, so if there's a book you're interested in suggesting that the group read 3 or more years ago, feel free to nominate it again.

• Also, feel free to suggest books that might have been suggested in a previous year but weren't picked. There are always too many good ones to choose from!

I will compile a list of all these suggestions so we can vote at a separate online meetup in January. This will be done via an online survey after we’ve all had a chance to discuss the suggestions. We will try to pick books for the entire year based on the results. If you can't attend but want to vote, please email Christy or Caroline separately so we can share the voting link with you.
