It’s time to put the money where the mouths are to see the top teams and players throughout Durham Region from the Civic League, WISC and the Durham Region Soccer Centre.
Teams and players can now have something to show for their playing abilities besides bragging rights. Cash and a Cup will be up for grabs as well!
The date(s) will be May 24 and possibly May 25 if needed.
The tournament will take place at the Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex: https://g.co/kgs/8WS6cg1
Civic Recreation Complex
(905) 436-5454.
I’m planning on having 2 divisions, the Premier Division and an over 35 Dadbod Division.
The Premier Division Champions will win $500 and the Dadbods Division Champions will win $250 respectively. (If more teams participate then the winnings could increase in value or the teams in the finals will both win monies.
The format will be either 6v6 or 7v7.
A roster of 10 persons would be ideal, however, teams can have from 8-12 players.
Teams will play a minimum of 6 matches, approximately 30 min games. The finals will be an hour match, the semis will be 50 min matches.
I will check ID’s for the Finals to ensure all registered players will be participating to ensure fairness.
All players will be fully insured as well.
The team fee will be $950. Also, all players and their families will receive 50% food at Eastside Mario’s for the tournament duration. I am also planning to work with some local breweries for the tournament as well as who doesn’t enjoy a frosty pint after a soccer match?!
I will also award the Championship Team with a Cup which I’ll engrave their team name on it and have it posted on the league website.
I’m also planning on having some other rewards for some players during the tournament such as the tournament MVP, top goalkeeper and top scorer etc. I will have all the details updated on the league website at: durhamregionsoccercentre.com in due time.
Feel free to contact me if there are any questions via thugs email or the league email at: leagueinfo@durhamregionsoccercentre.com
I hope to see a lot of teams out there. Should be a fun tournament.
Cheers
Cory Grieve,
League President of Durham Region Soccer Centre
