WPO meetup on Mobile Performance and Operations

Hi All,

I think everyone really enjoyed the first meetup in januari with lots of interesting people and discussions about both web performance and operations culture in Amsterdam. So, time for the next meetup.

The theme of this meetup is mobile: what do you do to create an excellent (high performance) mobile experience for your users and what impact does this have on your operations team(s). In this talk, Emiel van Liere, Mobile Development Team Lead, will talk about how hyves supports multiple mobile frameworks with minimal effort by use of html5 and javascript. Topics will be mobile architecture, buildsystems, testing frameworks and how hyves uses phonegap.

19:30 Nimbuzz: Be More Mobile!

Nimbuzz is a communication platform which provides services to make calls, send messages and share files, on any mobile device, desktop computer or Internet browser. Nico Klasens and other core team members will talk us through how almost 3,5 million users use the service daily through a mobile device and at peak time more than 600.000 user sessions are online. In the last years, the number of users doubled each 6 month. In this talk we will provide some insights in what we have and what rules we apply throughout our architecture to cope with the growth. Of course we will not leave out the dirty details of the bits and bytes we send around for our users.
