World Migratory Bird Day & City Nature Challenge

Details
Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us at Fort Caroline National Memorial! This year's theme is Shared Spaces and we will be sharing simple actions that each of us can do to help birds migrate safely. There will be two bird/nature walks and some fun, educational activities such as a beginner bird scavenger hunt, iNaturalist support, and junior ranger activities.
According to the BirdCast migration dashboard, 2,283,700 birds flew through NE Florida overnight! We hope to see some visiting species of warblers and possibly even some Great-crested Flycatchers and Swallow-tailed Kites!
🐦 Morning walk: 9:30-10:00am
☀️ Educational activities: 10:00am-1:30pm
🦅 Afternoon walk: 2:00-2:30pm
🥾 Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and bug repellent.
If you would like to participate in the City Nature Challenge, you will need the phone app iNaturalist, which uses citizen science and AI to help identify plants and animals.
