Plants for Birds Site Prep Workday at Tillie K Fowler Regional Park
Details
The Nature Center at TK Fowler regional park was awarded an Audubon Plants for Birds Grant! We will be preparing the site on this date for planting of native, bird-friendly plants on another date in late February or March.
Meet at Nature Center building at north end of park road on cul-de-sac. Park b4 cul-de-sac in parking spaces on left side of road. Bring your own water bottle and snacks, gloves, shovel and hand clippers if you have them. Some tools will be provided by Duval Audubon. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants/sleeves recommended.
Volunteers will help park staff and Duval Audubon prepare a new section of garden for native plantings to come in the spring. Expect to dig up ginger plants, clear out pathways and position logs along trail boundaries. Volunteers will also assemble a wooden arbor and various other tasks TBD.
