Bird Walk for Beginners
Details
New to birding or just want a relaxing bird watching outing? Our Bird Walk for Beginners is for you! This month’s beginning bird walk will be at Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park, located on Jacksonville’s West Side at 7000 Roosevelt Blvd, 32244. Birders have recorded nearly 150 different species of birds at this eBird hotspot, and with fall songbird migration just beginning, there is a good chance to see a variety of species like the Black-and-white Warbler, American Redstart, Red-eyed Vireo, and many others.
Meet leaders Johnna Bellen and Brook Byrnes at the Nature Center at 9:00 am to sign in and get ready to find some birds! The group will walk the easy 1-mile trail from the Nature Center to the Observation Tower and back, so make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Also bring your binoculars, a hat, bug spray, sunscreen, and water to drink. Restrooms are available near the Nature Center.
Whether you are a beginning birder or a seasoned expert,
all are welcome to join us for this fun outing!
