What we’re about
Welcome, all humans who want to play the game of life facing their mortality (or helping a loved one face theirs) with courage, compassion and peace! This forum is here to debunk the myth our Western medical mindset has tried to sell us that Death is our enemy, and if we're dying, we should be ashamed and consider ourselves to be complete and utter failures in our final round of play.
Well... sorry docs, but that's hogwash! Dying is part of the natural order of life, and Death always has the winning hand in the end. So, let's meet and explore ways we can reframe this entire story more in alignment with Eastern cultures and Indigenous peoples who have befriended death for millennia.
Dying Consciously... Dying Wisely is here to connect and illuminate a path where we see death as it truly is... a part of life... not its opposite. Through training classes and Death Cafes discussions, we will explore the true nature of Death as a bookend of life, along with Birth... first breath to last... holding all the beautiful, scary, hilarious, frustrating, boring, and amazing living that comes in between.

Please join us for another opportunity to engage in open conversation on death & dying in a safe and supportive environment to explore and ask questions. Our mission is to create a open, free, and always expansive conversation around any and all topics related to death & dying.
Come enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea, snacks, and settle in for an intriguing conversation!
If you haven't heard of Death Cafés, they are rapidly growing! [deathcafe.com] Our purpose in being is to increase awareness of death with a view toward supporting all of us in making the most of our (finite) lives. Death Cafés are always a group directed discussion with no agenda or objectives.
We ask that you bring an open mind and heart, with lots of curiosity! How can we grow together, in our humanity, with the one thing that is certain to make us all equal?
We find that people actually leave more uplifted, enlightened and generally more joyful after attending a death café! And while Death Café's are not grief support groups or counseling sessions, we acknowledge that grief may arise for some as we discuss topics that at times touch us deeply.
We've found that Death Cafés are transformative places where sometimes there's laughter... sometimes there are tears... but always there is connection!
A big "Thank You!" to Be A Tree Cremation for hosting us at their beautiful new event space!
