Crest to Mill D - NO Shuttle

Details

The time has come when can hit this trails again. Crest to Mill D is open! This, it has to be one of the best Night Rides in the area.

We will start pedaling from the Mill D trailhead/parking lot at 7:00 pm sharp...DON"T BE LATE or you'll have to catch up!. We climb up the paved canyon road for a little bit, then take the Solitude backdoor trail, switch to the other side of the road and continue to climb up the old Stage Road to the Wasatch Crest Connector to the bottom of Puke Hill and ride the traditional Wasatch Crest Trail, Then the Spine and Mill D down back to the cars. Most of the snow will be gone, there is only one section after puke hill that takes a little longer to clear, so you might get a bit muddy crossing the melting snow. But the rest of the trail is already getting dusty :)

This ride should be around 17 miles and 3300 ft of climbing with a great descent and about 3hrs of riding time (depending on speed but we are not hauling ass on this one). This trail has some steep and sometimes loose climbs - Old Stage Road, Puke Hill and 3 bitches (the 3 red climbs) and some fast and flowy sections with rocky and loose corners. The Spine is always a challenging section, specially in the dark but it can always be walked, same thing with the lower rocky sections of Mill D.

This ride is suited for intermediate riders with very solid bike handling skills and above riders. The majority of the group will dictate the pace but we will be taking breaks or re-group at trail intersections. The good Thing about riding at night in these trails is that there will be no haters and/or Hikers.

What do you need for this ride?

  • Good Attitude
  • Night riding lights (Mandatory!) Mill D will be in the dark!
  • Full Charged eBike
  • Gloves and a light jacket in case weather changes.
  • Water and snacks for the ride.
  • Spare tube, mini pump, multitool for trail side repairs.
  • The descents on this trail will be fast over often rocky terrain, so protection pads are highly recommended.

Any questions? Post to the comments section of this event, or email me through the group.

Hope to see you there!

P.S. I drive a Blue Honda Ridgeline and I ride a Gray Turbo Levo. Also if you want to hang around after the ride bring a chair and a beverage of your choice
