Details

Global Online Haskell Hackathon

The hackathon will be on Saturday and Sunday 23 and 24 May 2020 between the hours 10 AM and 10 PM.

There are 2 types of participants in the hackathon:

  • project contributor - will be joining work on one or more of the presented projects (make sure you have already Haskell installed on your computer before joining the hackathon)

  • project mentor - will be presenting their projects and help the project contributors work on the project by answering any questions and providing support. If you are a mentor make sure to have a list of issues which others can work on prepared like for ex. on a kanban board in GitHub: https://github.com/fairy-tale-agi-solutions/haskell-editor-setup/projects/1 and also prepare some kind of presentation which you will do at the beginning of the hackathon

Important: Join the Haskell Dublin Meetup Discord because that is where we will coordinate the work on the hackathon projects: https://discord.gg/PBjkkDC

Even more important: make sure you have already Haskell installed on your computer before joining the hackathon. For easy setup follow the steps mentioned here: https://github.com/fairy-tale-agi-solutions/haskell-editor-setup#instructions-for-setting-up-haskell-editorside

At 10:15 AM on 23 May 2020 we will open the hackathon event and explain how to proceed further over Discord group audio / video chat. So please make sure to have joined Discord by then

During the 10:15 AM Discord opening the planning will be something like the following:

  • By then all the mentors will need to provide us a link to their project, a short description of it and we will create a Discord text and audio channel for them.

  • Mentors will be split among different Discord audio channels where they will be presenting their projects.

  • After the presentations mentors and mentees will further communicate in the project dedicated text and audio channels for the respective projects

That is about it. Anyone for wherever they are: on the planet or on the international space station, etc. are invited to join. In rest, just have fun coding and meeting new people passionate about Haskell and FP :)
