Last ride at Summit for the season!
For those who aren't familiar with the concept, the ski resort in Big Bear, Snow Summit, turns into a mountain bike park in the summer time.
The Park operates a ski lift that takes riders and their bikes up the mountain. Riders then have their choice of trails to ride down.
This park has trails for every skill level, from beginners to X games.
We will be riding the following trails:
Going Green (Beginner Downhill)
Turtle (Intermediate Downhill)
Blue Steel (Intermediate Downhill)
Fern (Beginner cross country)
Pirates (Beginner to Intermediate Cross Country)
Terrain is mountain forest. The trails are dusty and rocky.
Meeting Time, Place, and How to Find Us

  • 10am in the parking lot. The ride itself will start at 10:30am.
  • Parking is free. But it fills up fast. Get there early.
  • This is a mountain biking mecca. There will be hundreds of riders here. I will put a large (albiet homemade) banner on the side of my car saying "IE MTB Meetup".
  • What to bring:
  • Your bike
  • A helmet (you cannot ride with us without a helmet)
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Basic tools like a small pump, tire levers, and a tube for your bike
  • Sunscreen

Notes on your bike:

  • These trails are the real deal. Do NOT bring a bike that you do not have 100% confidence in. If there is a mechanical weakness in the bike, these trails will bring it out.
  • Whatever type of bike you are riding, please make sure it is in good working order beforehand. That means tires full, brakes working, handlebars tight, chain good, and crankset ready to go. If you think you will need help or are not sure, contact the organizer before the ride.
  • Notes on carpooling:
Some people have a bike and no car. It happens! If you need a carpool, feel free to post it on this event's chat.
    Event fees:
This Park charges $60-70 for a list ticket for the day.
    Essential Safety:
  • This is a NO DROP RIDE. We stick together. The person in front of the train has to be willing to stop for the rest of the group.
  • Only ride within your ability. If you aren't sure about something, stop and think about it. We do not have to hit every trail out here in the time allotted.
  • If you see somebody struggling, call it out and help them out.
