Anyone interested in learning some of the basics of GIMP graphics editing program is welcome to attend a free workshop from 10 am to 11:30 am in the computer center of the Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave, Takoma Park, MD. We'll be learning how to make home-made holiday cards. Please bring a laptop with GIMP if you are not a Takoma Park resident. (The computers in the computer center require a Takoma Park Maryland Library card for logging in.) This free workshop is being sponsored by my friend Alice Sims and her organization Art for the People. I'll be there, too. Along these lines, check out this wonderful new GIMP tutorial that was uploaded to YouTube this week. http://tinyurl.com/c22ppwr Art for the People may be organizing more free GIMP trainings in the future. To stay in the loop on these, contact Alice Sims at alicesims@aol.com In my eyes, Alice is a living legend. She spreads enthusiasm about art and creativity as far and and as wide as she can imagine. She does so in the nicest possible way, too. phil
