Cognitive Computing Experts in Chicago .. first meeting

Hi Cognitive Computers (CC) in Chicago,

We just asked the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University to host this meeting at the South Wabash Avenue location. They are looking into it. If not, we'll find another location in the city. Email me if you have any Meetup location suggestions.

This is the first meeting and is an orientation. Once we get together, the group will decide the focus and methods of this meetup. The general idea is Cognitive Science based computer application design, development, and implementation.

In Boston, we are more focused on the IBM products and services (at this time). Many members are asking for Microsoft CC tools and techniques. In Chicago, we'll do both. Many of the concepts are the same between IBM and Microsoft.

I have loaded our Boston orientation slides here (http://files.meetup.com/14210882/1404Orientation.pdf). This will give you a feel for what we are trying to accomplish as a CC platform agnostic group.

CC is coming. It is the next step beyond Big Data. In Boston, we think of it as "applied Big Data."

If you believe that applications will become more "cognitive" in the future, come join in our collective efforts.
