A digital screen is a rich canvas. Ever decreasing pixel pitches, with plunging prices to match, enable a future where paper is replaced with immersive engagement and interactivity.

Our first meet-up is all about remote engagement of these screens: how users can do stuff down here, and the affect is seen up there.

This can be done with any number of mechanics, such as using your mobile device as a remote control, or by standing on a platform to create a response.

We've gathered 3 innovative companies who are acutely focused on this growing capability, each in their own unique way. In keeping with our meet-up's commitment to content that attendees can touch, feel and see live, each presentation will involve an interactive mechanic that you can play with.

Candyspace build digital products for the connected world, across all screens. They create the magic that connects brands with consumers, crafting experiences that engage and entertain in digital out-of-home and beyond. Julian Esposito will be demonstrating the slick abilities of NodeJS and how they can create a seamless connection between device and screen. Make sure your bring your mobile (as if you'd forget it).

Future Colossal is an experiential innovation lab based in NYC. Founded with a mission to create immersive experiences for commercial and artistic purposes, they explore the boundaries of technology, art, and design. They've created some of the best VR experiences we've seen, but their best work in our opinion are some of their digital out-of-home activations that use all manner of nifty tricks that you have to see to believe. CEO Jake Lee-High will be here to show off another way that users can take control of screens, again something you can participate in yourself.

Pavegen is a pioneering technology company founded in 2009 harnesses the energy of footsteps from sophisticated floor tiles. The technology has been installed in over 100 projects in more than 30 countries, in train stations, shopping centers, airports and public spaces - but perhaps some of their most underestimated capabilities are in how these footsteps can trigger interesting and data-rich experiences on screens. Harvesting kinetic energy from feet is amazing in itself, but come in and get a load of their nifty screen app and listen to CEO Laurence Kemball-Cook explain it himself.
