OLX Women Series - A Journey to become an Engineering Manager

This time, we'll be hosting a new OLX Group initiative - the OLX Women Series! OLX Women Series is a set of events that will cover several topics relevant to women who have or want to have a career in tech, from leadership stories to career advice. Besides having OLX Women as panelists, we’ll invite women from various tech companies to share their ideas and best practices.

There is no one-size-fits-all path to a career in technical leadership, whether you strategically positioned yourself for it or stumbled upon it. Your career is an ongoing journey of self-discovery and seeking opportunities to grow and evolve.

More info about the speakers:
Aniela Crisan: Aniela is Director of Engineering at OLX Group where she leads the technology for the Motors Classifieds Customer Unit. She helps scale up the business through technology. Her focus is scaling the team while transforming the platform and keeping the operational excellence for the sole goal of creating products the customers need. Has a passion for software engineering but always knew that she wanted to be a manager. She likes to constantly challenge the world and she feels the best in fast-paced environments. Aniela was born and raised in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and lives in sunny Portugal where she found her passion for kitesurfing.

Rita Catarino: Rita is an Engineering Manager at OLX Group where she leads a mixed development team. Her focus is on optimizing delivery and quality while keeping a happy and healthy team, ready to grow. She started as a Software Engineer in a small marketing company in Lisbon but soon jumped to OLX where she grew up and reached the management path. She loves logic and solving problems so although coding is a passion, the management challenges are even more passionate and are her mission. She was born and raised in Lisbon but her roots are from Alentejo and that's where all of the good food comes from. She also loves to cycle and playing padel and tennis.

Andreia Meireles: Andreia is an Engineering Manager at Farfetch. Started as a Software Engineer in a small healthcare company in Coimbra but quickly she realize her true vocation was on a management path. Now she's managing the recommendations area at Farfetch ensuring the customers have a more luxurious and personalised experience.
