July (un)meetup

Hey everyone! It's been a while and we want to kick start things up again with an (un)meetup this month! We're co-hosting this with the ny-scala meetup, so please look to convert some new PureScripters ;)

Just to set the ground rules: the idea of this meetup is born out of the "unconference" format, which means it's loosely organized and community driven. At the beginning of the meetup people pitch topics and then break off into groups to discuss those topics. The topics are chosen by members of the community and they can either be something that person knows a great deal about or knows nothing about and wants to learn more. It should be expected that not a great deal of preparation goes into the topic, and this hopefully encourages more people to suggest topics since there is no pressure to prepare for weeks on end. Also participants are free to go from topic to topic if they wish to do so.

The first time I heard this idea it was suggested for the Northeast Scala Symposium, and I thought it would be a disaster. I was wrong. It was a complete success, and is now by far my favorite day of the conference, and I think that opinion is shared by most of the organizers. Give it a shot and I think you'll like it too!
