Dayton Folk Sing Along Meetup - at Wilmington Stroop Library (this time)
Details
Play guitar? Bring it! Only sing? Fine! Got a Rise Up Singing Songbook? Love to have 'em!
Our Face-to-Face meetings are mask free so if you are ill - especially if we're meeting indoors at the library - please either wear a mask or join us when you are well.
We meet at around 5:30 on the 1st and 2nd Thursday. We often meet indoors at the Ketterin-Moraine Library on Far Hills, but when they can't fit us into their schedule, we meet at other locations, like the Wilmington-Stroop Library on Wilmington Pike.
Please join our Facebook page - at Facebook, search for "Dayton Folk..." and before you can enter the rest of the words, our group name will be listed. We are the Dayton Folk Music Sing Along Meetup.
At our Facebook page, the Lary Eaton songbooks are available (for free) so that each group member can print off their own copy from a file found there or can download it to their tablet or phone. (Meetup doesn't allow us to post a file for distribution.)
We are a sing-along group. We take turns going around the circle choosing a song from one of the songbooks for the musicians amongst us to play so the rest of us can sing that song. Then it's the next person's turn.
This is not a musicians' venue, although musicians get acquainted at our group. We are grateful to have our musicians, but we are a democratic group where every member is valued equally! If you want us to sing a familiar song not included in our songbook collection, please bring a dozen or so copies of the song (with guitar chords and lyrics) so that everyone can sing it.
We aren't wonderful singers or musicians, we just like to have fun!
Type of music: 60s-70s pop music sing along with some traditional folk music.
