Happy Valentine’s Day Mobsters!!!

Well the last Money Tree Fundraiser STLFlashmob was so fun and successful we’re going to do it again!!! This one is for a man named Jay who’s been diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is a terminal illness that quickly sabotages the nervous cells in the brain and spinal cord, eventually causing death. Jay’s story was on channel 5 news Super Bowl Sunday and several mobsters saw the story and thought he was the perfect prospect for another Money Tree Flashmob. Jay’s wife and friends are throwing him a fundraiser on Sat. March 3 and we’re going to crash it at 8:30 pm. It’s happening at the Elks Lodge in Florissant. I’ve made contact with Jay’s brother and told him what we’d like to do and he’s excited to have us do our mob at their event.

Here are some key notes on this flashmob.

Kids are allowed! This is a private venue and there are going to be other kids attending, so we’ve been given the approval to allow kids to come mob with us. STLFlashmob has always been family friendly and now is the perfect time to drag the kids away from the computer or TV and allow them to experience a truly life-long memorable act of entertainment and benevolence.

You DO NOT have to have a costume or donate any money!!! I don’t want to read that anyone can’t make this flashmob because they don’t have any money or a costume. This is all about positively impacting a person’s last days of their life. Just being there and using your energy, smile and presence is enough to be part of this Money Tree Flashmob.

However, if you are able to come in costume, that’s awesome too. Ann Austin, one of our mobsters has several dresses she’s willing to let other’s use. Contact her if you’d like to borrow one. I have a men’s double breasted suit that would make a great mobster suit. It’s size 40R. I also have several other extra hats. If you don’t have a costume, you can always dress in black. Thrift stores are the perfect place to find hats, jackets, dresses and ties. Girls can wear men’s jacket, tie and hat. The best suit is a double-breasted jacket (which means one side button’s over the other side.) The best hat is a Fedora. Image Google gangster or flapper outfit if you want more visuals. But again, you don’t have to wear a costume, you can come in normal street clothes.

Also, Haberdashery Vintage clothes gives a discount to STLFlashmobsters if you go in and tell them you’re part of our mob. Their website is www.vintagehab.com (http://www.vintagehab.com/) Johnny Brocks also has gangster and flapper costumes.

Now as far as donations are concerned ANY dollar amount is fine to put on the tree. If you aren’t able to donate, that’s totally cool too. Please give whatever you can afford. Remember though, this is a fund raiser flashmob and I’d hate to have 50 mobsters dancing and only present them a Money Tree with $25. I hope everyone can understand where I’m coming from on this.

We’re going to be rehearsing prior to the event on Sat. Feb 18th and Feb 25th from 10 am to Noon at the Sports Café located at 3579 Pennridge, Bridgeton, MO. It’s by the Olive Garden at St. Charles Rock Road and 270. We’re going to try and choreograph some simple steps that everyone can do to bring it all together as a “mob”. Please, please try to attend these so you can see exactly what we’re doing. Also, if you don’t want to do the choreographed dance and you just want to be out on the dance floor, you can do that too! No dance skills are needed.

Our last Money Tree Fundraiser Flashmob was a huge success and I believe this one’s going to be even better. Please try and get your friends and family to join. Participating in one is literally like getting high on life. You come away with a feeling of true propose and meaning of why we’re here on this planet....and that is to make this world a better place.

Share the video of our last one on your wall and invite others to participate by joining our facebook group which you can also share on your wall.

This is a secret to Jay and his wife and everyone else attending, so please don’t post any names or specifics of the event. If they’re interested they can come to our event’s page or look at our documents on our group’s page. Hope to see you all there!

Love and peace,

Harry “speegg” Sneed
