This month, we have a special treat: Sam Wazan, who was one of the best speakers at TEDxCharlotte 2015, has agreed to come speak at our next assembly!
He will be presenting his talk "The Frontier of Peace: Parenting for Humanity."
Here's a brief synopsis:
Wazan renders a portrait of life in a society ruined by radicalization, in the Middle East where he grew up. He shares insights from the ground up and describes a way forward. With personal experiences and anecdotes, he will attend three areas:
- Usher you to a place, where you will learn about the incubators of radicals.
- Increase your awareness of the factors that produce radicals worldwide.
- Equip you with a new definition of bravery, where courage can be practiced to achieve peace
This is sure to be one of the most memorable talks we have had at Sunday Assembly Charlotte so far! If you are a parent, a concerned citizen, or just someone looking to Live Better, come out and join us for this incredible event!
Sunday Assembly Charlotte is a congregation that meets to hear great talks, sing songs and generally celebrate the wonder of life. It’s a service for anyone who wants to live better, help often and wonder more.
Each month, we invite local speakers to share TED-style talks intended to inspire and entertain.
Our band, Some Assembly Required, will play awesome pop songs. Feel free to sit back and enjoy or jump up and sing along.
To top it all off, join us after the show for tasty treats!
Just follow our signs & greeters!
