π π Pi Day Hackathon! π π

Details
Update
β’ Please bring your own laptops or devices to code on.
β’ If you are in need of a Raspberry Pi to code, let us know ahead of time before noon on Friday. Email krickert {at} hugeinc.com for requests.
β’ There will be a panel of judges that will decide the winners of the hackathon. We will have the top prizes get a pie and a raspberry pi. Runner ups will get just the raspberry pi. In other words, we have more raspberry pis than pies :)
β’ The number of prizes we give away are dependent on the number of contestants.
β’ We are also doing a contest as to who can recite the most digits of pi
β’ We will be pairing up some teams together. Some students will attend and we will see if they would like to join teams to sit in, watch, and experience some coding.
3/14/2015 is the only π day we will see.
So let's celebrate -- and code.
Coding will begin around noon and optimally be handed in at 3:14:15.92 (π o'clock). We'll have raspberry pis and gift certificates to purchase Four and Twenty Blackbirds pies (the best pies in Brooklyn, in our humble opinion).
So what exactly do you do for a π Hackathon?
You to tell us.
There's only one rule: make it π-related.
Here are the rational rules behind everyone's favorite irrational number:
β’ You will have 3 hours and 14 minutes to code.
β’ Regarding what you make, the only rule is that your code must have something to do with π (the vernacular π, so code doing something with a pie is another option)
β’ You will have 3 minutes and 14 seconds to do your presentation (π minutes)
β’ Hack groups can be no larger than 5 but we encourage about π.
What the hell does it mean to make a π-related application?
Here are some ideas if you can't think of one:
β’ An algorithm that calculates the digits of π to a certain amount of places in 10 different programming languages
β’ A recipe book application for cooking pies
β’ A drawing application that utilizes π
β’ A music application that features a song about π
β’ An education application that helps children understand geometry with π
This is meant to be fun and not intense and crazy. Since you have only 3 and 14 minutes to make this right, we're looking for creativity and completeness of the application!
