EAA106 Chapter's VMC Club
Details
This month's video scenario: our poor pilot is out for lunch with a friend, at Half Moon Bay on the West Coast. He is flying a PA-24 - 400. It's a beautiful day and the airplane passes pre-checks and run-up with no problems. He is in contact with ATC and is entering the pattern at Half Moon Bay when he notices there is no green light for the landing gear. He cycles the landing gear down to no avail and the manual handle has not moved. The circuit breaker seems OK. The emergency extension handle is jammed. What Would You Do?
Question of the month: When approaching touchdown, you notice that the aircraft tends to float rather than touch down. Besides excess airspeed, what causes this phenomenon?
