Chapter Meeting: BlackSky Composites at Sanford Regional Airport, ME
Details
We'll be visiting BlackSky Composites ([https://www.blackskycomposites.com/)](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.blackskycomposites.com/) research facility at the Sanford Seacoast Municipal Airport, Sanford Maine (Hanger E50, East Ramp at KSFM). BlackSky Composites is owned by our very own, Izzy Briggs.
The winter months are always a challenge in terms of getting together in a place with adequate heat during this season. For the second year running, Izzy Briggs has very generously offered to host us in his well-heated, spacious hangar. Expect an informal gathering with the usual hangar talk spiced up with a crossover event with the local area members of the National Rocketry Association.
Park at the airport, 199 Airport Road, Sanford, ME in the parking lot of the old Pilot Cove Cafe at 9:50-10am. Arrangements will be made to head over to Izzy’s hangar together.
Lunch will be provided with a combination of pot-luck items from the rocketry folks and food purchased by the chapter to add to the feast. Whether your thrust comes from a propeller, turbine, or nozzle, aviation people always have plenty in common. As always, Izzy’s hangar is chock full of delights, stories, and great company. Hope to see you there!
KSFM is about an hour's drive from the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
Fly-Ins park on the GA Ramp and call/text (603)410-7277 for instructions, or ask a local where the BlackSky hangar is and walk over.
