Matt Baker is an entrepreneur, award-winning developer and the author of best-selling HMO must-read book "Next Level Landlord".
Over the past 10 years Matt and his team have delivered hundreds of rooms across the UK.
In addition to being a landlord, Matt has also been a tenant and this helped form his 'Tenant First' approach that evolved developments from simple HMOs to ultra-modern and innovative co-living homes.
Matt's creative background as a professional musician is reflected in the creativity that he applies to problem-solving. He won a lifetime achievement award as part of the HMO Action Group (formerly HMO Council Tax Reform Group) which successfully lobbied and got legal change regarding Council Tax banding of HMO rooms.
Matt's personal mission is to improve the standard of shared accomodation nationally and raise awareness of how HMOs are not the problem but are a crucial part of the solution to the housing problem.
With this in-mind Matt has delivered training that won awards for education and support services and has progressed to becoming a judge for accolades such as Property Investor Awards and the annual prestigious HMO Summit & Awards.
Not content to rest on his laurels Matt continues to pursue excellence and has written a new talk on his latest co-living project that is a Commercial Conversion to HMO that incorporates his best ideas and designs and has resulted in a stunning co-living space for tenants and an A-rated EPC for Matt!!
