From Developer to Deal Broker - Stefan Canavan

In this one-off talk Stefan will be sharing his journey from Corporate Strategy to successful Developer to award-winning Deal Broker - what he learned at each stage along the way, and how his experiences can help us as we progress.

Stefan graduated from the University of Manchester and then honed his business skills as part of the Strategy team at Ernst & Young (EY).

Although he enjoyed his job, Stefan developed a passion for Property and he and a friend bought, refurbished and sold a number of properties in South London whilst Stefan worked full-time at EY.

After 6 years Stefan's property career moved ahead of his day-job and he went full-time into property. He quickly progressed from refurbs to Title-splits, Office-to-Resi, New-build developments plus niche projects such as Barn Conversions.

In addition to his own projects, Stefan invested in other developer's schemes and this evolution led to him set-up his own brokerage firm, Willow Isle Capital.

Fast-forward to today and Willow Isle was recently awarded Development Finance Broker of the Year 2025 and received commendation for Service Excellence.
