Ealing Canal & Parkland Walk
Details
A leisurely 5 mile journey from Alperton via canals and local parks.
The walk begins on the canal towpath, sightings of exotic birds such as parakeets, cormorants and herons. Colourful narrow boats and rich autumn colours surround the canal. We then cross to Perivale, stopping at a pub for refreshments, carvery available or just a pint. We then proceed past St Mary's church, a quaint medieval church now used as a venue for recitals and concerts, which are streamed worldwide. Next we arrive at a small bridge over the Brent River, perfect for playing Pooh sticks, so gather your sticks in readiness. Our journey continues through the manicured grass of the Perivale golf club until we reach Pitzhanger Park and the Cafe Berry. Doggy ice cream is on the menu as well as treats for us humans. Onwards to explore the pretty area surrounding the Brent River.
Refreshments: Stopping at pub for refreshments, carvery available. Also Pitzhanger Park and the Cafe Berry.
