River Crane Walk
Details
Who would have thought it? A flat and beautiful wooded 6-mile Crane riverside stroll heading towards the source of the Crane. There's a rural feel and plenty of shade as well. We start at Twickenham station, with our lunch stop at a preserved shot tower. Here, there are toilets and a coffee kiosk with a basic selection of sandwiches and pastries etc. although it's probably advisable to bring a packed lunch. We pass the remnants of some gunpowder mills before we emerge close to our finish point near Cranford,
Refreshments: Coffee kiosk for lunch serving basic cold food items, option to bring packed lunch.
Travel: Train from London Waterloo to Twickenham. Stops at Clapham Junction and Richmond.
Recommended train leaves Waterloo at 10.18 and arrives Twickenham at 10.40.
