Long Weekend in county Durham.
Friday
After check in we plan a short walk taking in the views of Edmundbyers.
Saturday
We plan to take the bus into Durham for our 7-mile walk. The trail starts at Durham Station and passes through the many varied landscapes that encircle the city while offering encounters with the city's rich history and heritage all the way around. There are beautiful historical woodlands, a famous battle site, an Iron Age fort, a Victorian park, the Miners Parliament buildings, university colleges. Superb changing views of the world heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle.
Sunday
Option one to take the 8-mile Edmundbyers Lead Mining Trail through the Burnhope Valley. Explore the moorland and delightful river valleys of County Durham. Option two take the bus into Durham and visit all the attractions we passed on our walk on Saturday.
Monday
De-bunk and bid our farewells.
Refreshments
Hostel has its own fully licensed pub that the local farmers frequently visit. Full self-catering kitchen.
Travel
Trains from Kings Cross to Durham, then bus to hostel. Parking on site.

YHA Edmunbyers, Low House, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9NL
Cost of the weekend is just £10 deposit which covers for group membership. Then balance, £74 , to be paid for event. Includes 3 nights stay at hostel. Plus guided walks each day,and tea & coffee for the stay..
