What we’re about

Fear of speaking to a group? Have to make presentations for work? Need to organise and chair meetings? Come and up-skill with us.

We are a long established Toastmasters club, meeting at 7am and finishing sharp at 8:20am on alternate Wednesdays at the Parenting Place, Great South Rd, Greenlane, with a coffee-shop on site! Members rotate roles of organising the meeting, chairing the meeting, presenting formal speeches, evaluating the speeches of others using constructive feedback, as well as a catch-all quick-fire session to ensure all participants get a chance to speak. If you can do this at 7am, you can do it anytime! Each new member is paired with an experienced club member who will act a mentor to assisted in their development within the club.

We are a member of Toastmasters International and follow a tried and tested format - there is a wealth of information and resource available free at www.toastmasters.org.nz

Our club membership fees are currently $190 per 6 months which covers your Toastmasters membership and the room hire for our fortnightly meetings. Many businesses will reimburse this as part of their training program (we can provide you with a receipt).

Most importantly, however is your participation, and the feedback from other club members to give you the skills and confidence to nail, and even enjoy nailing that business presentation you're worried about. And we have fun. Yes hard to believe at 7am but we do. Come and try it for a few sessions to see for yourself before committing to joining.
