I am sharing my interest and experience in the planning, design, permitting and construction of alternative home building. I have built two homes and am currently building an earth sheltered home in the Front Range area of Jefferson County Colorado.
The home that I am building is a departure from 'stick built' construction. This home is constructed of steel reinforced concrete interlaced with three layers of rebar.
Is this the only construction for sustainable homes? No and any construction style that looks towards utilizing energy efficient methods is a topic of discussion.
I will be relying on renewable engery technology and geological aspects of energy efficiency.
