A Day at the Gallery with Eason House
Details
Spend the afternoon with us at the gallery as we experience Driftwork, curated by Essence Harden.
Driftwork, curated by Essence Harden, is an exhibition rooted in remnants; the pieces, memories, and traces that linger long after something has shifted or gone.
Through a range of powerful Black and diasporic artists, the show explores fragments as portals: archival echoes, impossible images, stitched surfaces, scraped canvases, blurred memories, spectral drawings, and ritual gestures that hold the weight of history and the softness of reverie. Across analogue, digital, sculptural, and sonic forms, these artists activate the fragment as a living, breathing presence. Their works unsettle, reimagine, and illuminate the intersections of social history, institutional memory, diaspora, and the spaces where something has been eroded yet still insists on being felt.
Driftwork invites us into slow looking. Into the scar, the grain, the trace. Into what Toni Morrison called the life contained inside fragments.
As Black women in community, we step into this space willing to move gently, sense deeply, and honor what lingers at the edges of our own stories.
