18:30 - Doors open & networking
19:00 - Talk: Security Culture - From "Full Metal Jacket" to "The Avengers"
20:00 - Networking
20:30 - Close

We'll be kicking off the session's content at around 19:00, as we have a hard end on the room hire at 20:30 and I want to make sure we've got some time to chat at the end. We'll have soft drinks and pizza as usual to keep you all fed and watered throughout.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

This event's talk

I'm pleased to be able to have Vincent Gilbert, Head of InfoSec at FundApps, speaking at this meetup. Vincent will be delivering a talk entitled Security Culture - From "Full Metal Jacket" to "The Avengers".

A teaser of his talk is below!

Are you tired of your colleagues ignoring your security messages and avoiding you at the Christmas party? Do you want people at your company to engage and take responsibility for security issues? Comply with security measures? And even solve decade-old security issues with new ideas?

What you need is a shift in your security culture! On top of that, it's free! We will dive deep into examples of security culture mishaps, like the Equifax breach and the shocking downfall of a fictitious fruit company’s security team.

Get ready to harness the power of an open security culture to transform your colleagues into cyber superheroes using collaboration, transparency, trust, and psychological safety!

Venue

For this event, we're planning to be in the Seminar Room at The University of Suffolk's Innovation Labs. I'd recommend parking at Duke Orwell Quay car park on the Waterfront; prices are reasonable and it's just a few minutes walk from the venue. Parking isn't available in the University of Suffolk car park (unless you'd like a fine!)
