Rebuilding the Futurist Manifesto

Details

It's been a long time since I've organized a futurist meetup, as I've been quite busy building out a retreat center in rural Mendocino County. However, I'm looking forward to getting back to the Bay Area and reconnecting with everyone. I've missed our stimulating discussions, and I believe that it's important for us to come together and explore the future. I'm particularly excited to hear your thoughts on the topics I've proposed and any other ideas you may have.
For the past few years, a few close friends and I have been discussing the original Italian Futurist manifesto and the works of Nietzsche. We've found their ideas to be incredibly stimulating and relevant to the challenges of today's world. However, we also recognize the need to update and expand upon these philosophies.

Join us for an exciting meetup to discuss a new futurist philosophy that synthesizes the best of Italian Futurism, Nietzschean thought, and metamodernism. Our goal is to create a dynamic vision emphasizing progress, individual empowerment, and nuanced engagement with reality.
We'll celebrate technological innovation and artistic experimentation, drawing inspiration from the original Futurists' love of speed, energy, and transformation. From Nietzsche, we'll incorporate the creation of personal and societal values and the embrace of life-affirming power. Metamodernism will guide us in balancing conflicting states and critically engaging with contemporary complexities.
We'll also discuss aspects to avoid, including:

Italian Futurism: Rejecting fascist associations, glorification of war, and total dismissal of heritage.
Nietzsche: Avoiding elitist interpretations of the Übermensch and the darker aspects of nihilism.
Metamodernism: Steering clear of excessive relativism and indecisiveness.

As always, I expect this proposition to be mercilessly disemboweled by the participants, and I look forward to all digressions and non sequiturs that take far afield away from the initial discussion topic. I hope to see you there.

We will setup in Strawberry Creek Park on the lawn near the cafe.
