Viva la Vida: The Art of Frida Kahlo

Details
What better way to celebrate Dia de los Muertos than a talk on Frida Kahlo! Frida Kahlo’s passionate interest in the cultures of Mexico served as a backdrop for her idiosyncratic and intensely autobiographical body of work. Fueled by a series of tragedies in her life, she created a series of complex and often disturbing images of herself. Yet she also created lush, fantastic imagery in her works, serving to create a powerfully complex personal style that is one of the most original and dramatic of the 20th century.
