What we’re about

✨ East Ink Collective ✨

A writing group for East London & Essex storytellers

Welcome to East Ink Collective - a creative space for anyone who writes, dreams of writing, or just wants to sit among people who “get it.”

Whether you’re into poetry, short stories, novellas, novels, or chaotic fanfiction, you’ll find your place here. We welcome all backgrounds, all experience levels, and all genres - the more diverse the voices, the richer the stories.

You don’t need to be published. You don’t even need to have a fifty-page work-in-progress. If you’ve just opened your first blank doc and stared at it for fifteen minutes straight, unsure where to start - you’re in the right place. 💻✨

🖋️ What we do:

Silent Writing Sessions: Focused, peaceful writing time. Bring your current project, set your own goal, and write in good company - no pressure to share unless you want to.

Prompt Writing Sessions: Two themes (pick one), two hours, and a creative spark. You don’t have to finish your piece - the goal is to start. Prompts are brilliant medicine for writer’s block.

Feedback Circles: Volunteer writers can share excerpts and receive constructive, supportive feedback. It’s a great way to test ideas, gauge emotional impact, and brainstorm next steps.

Wholesome Socials: As the group grows, we’ll throw in casual meetups - think pub nights, park picnics, coffee mornings, or brunches. Because writers deserve snacks and serotonin too. ☕🥐

💜 A note from Adél

I’ve been writing on and off for two decades - mostly short stories and novellas (or failed attempts at novels until this very year). Studying Hungarian literature in high school fuelled my interest in writing. Then after diving into Korean Language, Management, Psychology, and Computer Science at university, I somehow ended up in tech, where my creativity went to die (temporarily).

At the start of 2025, I began writing again through prompts - anything to fill those empty Google Docs. One of those prompts grew into a full novel of 170k words, now on its second edit and nearly ready to pitch. Writing every evening and lunch break helped me find myself again, and I want to offer that same space to others.

So, if you’re in East London or nearby, come join the East Ink Collective - a safe, inspiring space to grow, reconnect with your craft, and maybe even make a few writer friends along the way.

Our trial event kicks off in November, and we’ll move to regular sessions once we hit around 20 members. I'll be organising in-person events around Romford, and will try to stay close to stations when picking a venue.

Let’s write. Let’s overthink. Let’s get emotional about our characters together. 🖤
