11 mile Walk - Worthingtons Original
Details
A Plodder walk. No dogs sorry, they are prohibited at Worthington Lakes. Park & meet at free c.p at the rear of The Crown at Worthington pub (on the understanding that hopefully some of us will call in the pub after the walk for a drink). Platt lane, Standish, Wigan WN1 2XF. What3words: ///mystified.innovate.smelter
Taking in Worthing Lakes, Leeds Liverpool canal, Haigh hall country park for lunch, then country footpaths towards Standish, through Standish (with a little bit of history thrown in) & returning to The Crown pub. Walking along mainly good footpaths & some fields that maybe muddy in places this time of year. An overall ascent of 800. Some steps & inclines included but taken at a steady pace.
Please give thought to the clothing and footwear necessary for adverse weather or ground conditions, and carry enough water and food for the day.
**The leader will not see comments on Meetup, please contact Andrea Foster Tel: 07703 778519 andfosy@gmail.com**
