What we’re about
This group’s principal aim is to provide a friendly social network for LGBTQ+ Londoners who live and work in and around East London. However, membership is also open to those who live elsewhere in London or are new to the city as well as our good friends and neighbours from Europe. The majority of meetings will be arranged in and around East London, namely Hackney and the North East London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering & Barking & Dagenham and the City of London. Other Meetups may be arranged further afield, but unlike other groups, will take account of travel connections and disruptions on the East side of London. Meet ups will include pub meets (at gay & straight venues), meals, exhibition visits, cinema and theatre meets. As well as other activities, including walks and visiting places of interest. Occasionally we might tag along with another Meetup Group. Where possible we will arrange meets that take account different budgets too. Members are welcome to make suggestions for Meetups, or host their own. They should contact one of the Group's organisers directly.
Please note that our meet up notice & discussion boards do not exist to provide free advertising for your business or free publicity for your own events, it is purely social. Posts for businesses/events without permission from the organisers will be automatically deleted.
Rules:
1. Please treat all group members respectfully. This includes not queue jumping or making complaints and/or offensive remarks on the public notice boards and event chats. If you do your membership will be cancelled. If you have a complaint please contact the organiser directly.
2. If you are unable to attend a Meetup you have signed yourself up for, you change your RSVP asap. If you "no show" more than twice for an event with limited spaces your membership will be cancelled.
3. Please provide a clear face picture in your profile.
There is also a small £1 fee for the majority of events to help cover the cost of using the meet up platform.
