Charming Peak District Walk: Bakewell, Monsal Trail & Villages Loop

This is a circular 13 km trail, rated moderate, with beautiful riverside views, countryside paths, and a stretch along the Monsal Trail.

Estimated time: around 4 – 4.5 hrs, including a short break halfway to rest or grab a quick snack.

Important parking note:
If you’re using Bakewell Bridge Car Park, make sure you get a clear proof of payment (e.g. paper receipt or confirmation). Some people have reported receiving fines even after paying, so please double-check before you leave your car.

I won’t be parking there myself — I usually use a nearby residential street with no restrictions or yellow lines. It’s free and has worked well for me in the past.

Meeting point detail:
We’ll meet just outside the main car park exit, near the entrance from the street.

The meeting time is 2:00 PM, and I’ll wait until 2:15. If no one shows up by then, I’ll head off – so please try to be on time.

Things to bring:
A bottle of water, comfortable walking shoes, and depending on the forecast – sunscreen and/or a waterproof jacket.
