Heublein Tower From MDC Reservoir 6

We will meet in the interior parking lot (near the water treatment buildings) at MDC Reservoir 6 at 10:45am and leave at 11:00 am. We will hike to the tower using the blue-red, red (seldom used), and Metacomet trails. We will return by continuing on the Metacomet going south, but when crossing under the power lines we will switch to a seldom used yellow blazed trail that will connect back to the blue-red trail and back to the parking area.

Distance: 5.5 miles (approx.) round trip.

Net Elevation Gain: about 500 feet.

Difficulty: Intermediate. Some moderately challenging slopes that may have rocky and/or slippery areas. Hiking poles are recommended due to slippery leaves on the slopes, especially downslopes.

Pace: 2-2.5 mph

Please wear appropriate footwear (i.e. hiking boots) and clothing, and bring at least one liter of water per person.
