East Shreveport Rotary Club Meeting

We meet each Thursday from Noon to 1 PM at Copeland's Restaurant, on East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
The cover charge for attending without lunch is $5.
The cost of lunch from a select menu is $22.

Our guest speaker today is Sam Brock.

Sam Brock, is a board member of REAL ( Reentry Alliance for Louisiana). The Reentry Alliance for Louisiana (REAL) is an organization dedicated to supporting individuals reentering society after incarceration. Their mission is to advocate, educate, and empower reentry stakeholders to improve public safety and the economy of Louisiana. They focus on providing accurate information and supporting regional coalitions of service providers for returning citizens.

Sam grew up in Shreveport and attended high school at Jesuit, now Loyola.

In 2017 his life took a drastic turn as he went from being named one of the Top Ten Rugby Coaches in the United States to an inmate at Caddo Correctional Center where he served 18 months.

At that point, not only did his life take a drastic turn, but so did his mission in life. He went from a self-serving coach pursuing a National Title and personal glory to the realization that true joy comes from the service of others to glorify God the Father. Specifically, he works with men during and after their incarceration to help them change their lives by changing themselves from the inside out to be successful on the outside and give back to society
