East Valley Salt River Paddling Group

Welcome to the East Valley Salt River Paddling Group!

Let's spend a relaxed paddle boarding or kayaking day on the Salt River—beautiful scenery, time on the water, and a great chance to see the iconic wild horses, one of the highlights of the float.

We will float from the Water Users to Phon D. Time on the river is usually around 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on water flow.

This is a calm, easygoing group to enjoy the river, getting some movement in, and spending time outside.

Please bring enough water, sun protection, a snack, and anything you would like to have with you during the float. Make sure your belongings are secured to your board or kayak.

A life jacket or PFD is required by Arizona law, so please bring one with you.

If you need a paddleboard, rentals are available nearby. If you bring your own, there will be time to get set up at the river.

We will coordinate transportation and logistics once we know who is coming.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety and comfort level on the water.

If people are interested, we can grab something to eat afterward.
