Sunday Sunrise Salt River Paddle – 5 AM Beat the Crowds

There’s nothing like the Salt River at sunrise — quiet water, cooler temps, and no crowds. If you’ve never done an early float, this is the time to try it.

We’ll meet at Phon D Sutton at 5:00 AM on Sunday, then shuttle a few cars to Water Users to launch around sunrise and float back.

This is an easy, relaxed float — perfect if you just want a peaceful start to your day (and maybe spot some wild horses).

Plan:

• Meet at Phon D Sutton at 5:00 AM Sunday
• Quick shuttle to Water Users
• Launch around sunrise
• Float back to Phon D

Bring:

• Paddleboard or kayak + life vest
• Water and a snack
• Small light or headlamp (it’s still a little dark at launch)

Important:

• You’ll need a Tonto Pass ($8) for parking (get one at a gas station beforehand and leave it on your dashboard)

We leave right at 5 AM — early, but totally worth it.
