To make the most of a dry day in an otherwise damp week, I am posting a new midweek walk along a quiet section of the Cuckoo Trail from Hellingly to Horam and return.

At 7.5 miles, this is fairly long but very easy walking as the trail is almost entirely level, sheltered and sound underfoot. We set off from Hellingly and head north for 3.7 miles to Horam where there is a cafe for coffees and snacks. Although we return the same way, the views will be different and equally delightful on the way back.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and I walk with a friendly hound called Josie. Dogs can be off lead the whole way, just keep a watch for the occasional cyclist.

Please note: as this walk is longer than usual and the days are short, we will be starting the walk at the earlier time of 10am. This will give us time for an enjoyable coffee break midway.

We meet in the Cuckoo Trail car park, Station Road, Hellingly BN27 4EU (free parking). If you are unable to attend on the day, please call or text me on 07764 677363 in case I can't access Meetup. Thanks Alison x
