THE GIFT OF RAIN by TAN TWAN ENG chosen by Indira, is the book to be discussed in this meeting.

It is widely praised in UK reviews as a haunting, beautifully written, and deeply immersive historical novel set in Penang, Malaysia, before and during the Japanese occupation. Critics and readers commend its evocative prose, complex exploration of loyalty and betrayal, and the philosophical, often tense relationship between the protagonist and his aikido master.

This is a friendly monthly book club.
