FRIDAY WALK: DOWNLAND & RIVERBANK (6.5M)

A beautiful walk across downland, fields and riverbank, with amazing views. At 6.5 miles, it's a bit longer than usual but the route is undulating with moderate ups and downs.

Starting from Chyngton Lane we head to High & Over then drop down to the Cuckmere. We walk into Litlington for coffee at the Cadence Cafe before returning through the village, crossing fields and skirting Friston Forest to the river. We follow the Cuckmere to Exceat then cross fields of lambs back to Chyngton - delightful!

The coffee stop is about 1/3rd of the way. We will stop again for a short lunch break on the riverbank so please pack a snack and sitmat.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and I walk with a friendly hound called Josie.

The start point is Chyngton Lane North, Satnav BN25 3UU. From Eastbourne, drive over the bridge at Exceat towards Seaford and, after 0.6 miles, take the first right.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to be booted and ready to leave at 1030.
