FRIDAY WALK: FIRLE-CHARLESTON CIRCULAR (5.2m)

Hi all. This circular walk takes us up to the South Downs Way above Firle, heading east along the ridge to enjoy fabulous views before dropping down to the Old Coach Road. We follow the lane into Charleston Farmhouse and return to Firle across the fields. It's just over 5 miles with one very steep hill near the start, which we will take at a steady, gentle pace. After that it's downhill or level.
We will stop in the Charleston Farmhouse cafe for coffee halfway, and there will be time for a quick look at the lovely garden for anyone interested.
Well behaved dogs are welcome and I often walk with a friendly hound called Josie.
We meet in the Firle Village free carpark, satnav BN8 6NX. The car park is on your left as you approach the village - if you get to the pub you've missed it! Please be ready and booted to start the walk at 10.15.
If the weather is wet I will cancel the walk the day before. If you have any problems on the day, please call or text me on 07764 677363 in case I can't access Meetup.
